Overview & legal bases

We process personal data only as far as necessary to provide a functional website. The main legal bases are Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), e.g. for advertising.

Hosting (Cloudflare)

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). When you access the site, Cloudflare processes technically necessary access data (e.g. IP address, date/time, requested page, user agent) in server log files to deliver the site and ensure security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place; transfers to the USA are safeguarded by Standard Contractual Clauses.

Web analytics (Cloudflare)

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used (e.g. number of visits, pages viewed, referrers, country). This service is privacy-friendly: it sets no cookies, does not store data that identifies you, and performs no cross-site tracking. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in measuring reach).

Time synchronization

To show the time accurately, the page requests the current time on load — normally from our own endpoint (/api/time, served by our host Cloudflare). Only if that fails does the page fall back to an external time server (timeapi.io or worldtimeapi.org); for technical reasons your IP address is then transmitted to that provider. The sole purpose is to obtain the precise current time (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Weather data (Open-Meteo)

On pages that show weather (home, city and country pages), your browser requests weather data directly from Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com and archive-api.open-meteo.com). For technical reasons your IP address and the coordinates of the viewed location (not your own location) are transmitted to Open-Meteo. The sole purpose is displaying current, forecast and historical weather (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Open-Meteo is an open-data service; more at https://open-meteo.com/en/terms.

Local storage in your browser

Settings and tool states are stored in your browser's localStorage — for example pinned cities, your country selection, timer/alarm/Pomodoro states, planner cities, display preferences (theme, °C/°F, map style) and a small weather cache for locations you viewed. In addition, the app caches pages and assets for offline use (PWA cache). All of this stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and can be deleted at any time via your browser settings.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
